Indian Bridge Collapses Kill 133 People
According to Indian authorities, nine persons have been detained in relation to the collapse of a suspension bridge in the Gujarat state, which left up to 133 people dead.
According to the police, those detained were managers from the business in charge of running the recently refurbished bridge. The police also stated that it's possible that more people will be detained. The roughly 150-year-old bridge over the Machchu River reportedly reopened five days ago following seven months of renovations by a private company, according to local media on Monday.
According to the sources, the local administration has not yet issued a certificate of suitability or safety for the Morbi City bridge. After the bridge collapsed on Sunday, numerous victims were treated, according to the police.
