On Tuesday, August 11, 2022, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Kamal Madbouly and Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin met in private at the Egyptian Prime Minister's Office Pavilion at the Sharm El Sheikh International Convention Center (SHICC), in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The two presidents talked about a range of topics including education, trade cooperation, and climate change during the roughly 60-minute encounter.

Vice President of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin opened the conference by thanking Egypt for its contribution to international efforts to solve climate challenges. He determined that Egypt and Indonesia, both developing nations, must continue to promote the fulfillment of international responsibilities in resolving this global issue from all angles.

The Vice President reasoned that the creation of a Joint Trade Committee and the creation of a Preferential Trade Agreement between the two nations could be pursued right away in order to further improve this positive performance.

Regarding education, the vice president expressed his appreciation for the facilities and scholarships provided to Indonesian students now attending school in Egypt.

In the future, he believes that these positive educational links can be further developed so that more Indonesian students can study in Egypt and vice versa.

"There are currently around 10,300 Indonesian students studying in Egypt. I hope that the two nations' collaboration can be further developed, notably in terms of offering security to Egyptian and Indonesian students, "He wished.

PM Kamal Madbouly welcomed the numerous messages delivered by the Vice President and stated that Egypt will keep working to strengthen its long-standing bilateral ties with Indonesia, particularly through economic cooperation.
